Bscta announces second charity partner

Following a presentation to the Bacta Charitable Trust (BCT) Board of Trustees, Bacta are delighted to announce a second charity partner who will now sit alongside ‘Rays of Sunshine’.

The new charity partner is ‘Little Lifts’ which is a charity established in 2017 by founder Oa Hackett to provide support to patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Steve Hawkins, Chairman of the BCT said ’Oa Hackett and her team made an excellent presentation to the Trustees and we are delighted and proud to announce that Little Lifts will be a joint charity partner for Bacta. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with 1 woman being diagnosed every 10 minutes. Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Treatment and support of breast cancer is a subject very close to the hearts of our members, their staff and their customers and I know that the adoption of the Little Lifts charity will resonate with many of our members who will, I am sure, respond with their usual generosity. The Trustees were very affected by Oa’s own breast cancer experience and were very impressed with the way that she established and grew the Little Lifts charity from a standing start. Little Lifts provides a unique level of support to people undergoing treatment and over the coming months we will work hard to establish Little Lifts with our members’.

Oa Hackett, Founder of Little Lifts said “we are delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with Bacta.  Our vision is that no breast cancer patient faces treatment alone.   This partnership is an important opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer as well as funds so that we can continue to provide practical and emotional support during a very difficult time.”
