John Bollom urges members to ‘nominate, stand and vote’

A senior Bacta delegation comprising President John Bollom, Vice-President Joseph Cullis and Executive Director (Government Relations) George McGregor met with members and updated them on key industry developments at the inaugural edition of the ARE Expo in Manchester this week. Included on a long list of Bacta priority issues the leading trade body representing the amusements and low-stake gaming entertainment sectors will be encouraging members to nominate, stand and vote in the forthcoming elections for the National Council and the Amusement Council.

President John Bollom said: “At the start of the process that resulted in members voting in favour of the proposals to modernise Bacta our objectives were to create a streamlined and more responsive structure which engages with all sectors of the membership in every part of the country.

“I believe that we have come a long way in a short period of time and I remain committed to ensuring that Bacta is representative of the industry, that it speaks for the industry and that it is able to draw on the incredible talent pool which exists within our industry.

“Increasing the size of the membership and encouraging more people to stand for office will serve to amplify Bacta’s voice, enhance its capabilities and extend its influence.

Elections are due for Bacta National Council (including Bacta President, Bacta Vice-President and three seats for Past Presidents) and the full Bacta Amusement Council (20 seats, with the top three entitled to seats on the Bacta National Council as the Amusement Council representatives).

Nominations open May 1st and close May 20th. Voting papers will be issued May 29th,with the balloting period closing June 12th. Election results will be declared a week later at the June 19th AGM. Elections for the Gaming Council will take place in 2026.
