Nomination forms have been sent to all Bacta members as the countdown for the 2025 elections begins. Nominations are for the full Amusement Council as well as the National Council positions of President, Vice President and three past Presidents. The electoral countdown covers the period from nominations being issued on Thursday 1 May through to Thursday 19 June when the results will be declared at Bacta’s AGM taking place at Bounce, the destination venue which is located a 2-minute walk from the Bacta Offices at Ely Place. In an initiative to maximise participation the AGM will be live streamed making it accessible to those Bacta members who are unable to attend in person.
Expanding on the arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, George McGregor, Bacta Executive Director (Government Relations) said: “Situated in the heart of Farringdon Bounce opened in 2012 and was the original ping pong social venue. Popular with consumer and corporate bookings alike it is a fantastic example of competitive socialising – the out of home entertainment trend which forms a core part of EAG’s new Social Immersive Expo. After the AGM and lunch at Bounce we will be hosting an afternoon tea at the Bacta offices in Ely Place. All members are welcome to attend and can register at https://forms.gle/QnFsNuiy1xK7MHxq8.”
The timing of papers landing with members in the week of ARE will, George McGregor hopes, encourage more nominations. He explained: “Exhibitions are a fantastic way of focussing attention on the important industry issues of the day. I hope that members will return from ARE invigorated by the challenges and opportunities which face the industry and determined to make a difference. There’s no doubt that the best possible way to achieve this and to help fashion the future of the industry is to engage with the new, modern Bacta and stand for election. There’s an incredible talent pool which exists within the Bacta membership and having more people standing for election will raise the bar and advance the interests of the community of businesses.”
Bacta nominations close May 20th, voting papers are being issued May 29th,with the balloting period closing June 12th.
