Bacta’s annual Golf Day returned in style on Tuesday 20 May, with perfect playing conditions, a strong turnout, and a fantastic fundraising total of £10,000 raised for the bacta Charitable Trust.
Held as usual at the prestigious Moor Park Golf Club in Rickmansworth, the event welcomed 72 players across 18 teams, all teeing off under blue skies, no wind, and a mild 22°C — a marked improvement on last year’s damp conditions.
The winning team on the day was Innov8, made up of Alastair Harris, Craig Morgan, Charles Baker, and Jody September, who played a strong round to take the top spot. They were closely followed by the SX Leisure team, captained by Greg Wood.
The individual winner was none other than Bessie Webb, proving that golfing talent runs in the family.
The day was once again organised by Steve Hawkins, Managing Director of SX Leisure and Chairman of the bacta Charitable Trust, who praised the support shown by the industry.
“I’d like to thank all the sponsors and companies that put teams in,” said Steve. “It was a fantastic day all round — great weather, great golf, and most importantly, a brilliant total raised for charity.”
With camaraderie, comedy, competition, and charity at its core, the Bacta Golf Day continues to be one of the standout social events in the industry calendar.
