Blueprint Operations has celebrated fresh success stories following the latest cohort of the Merkur UK Slots Academy, its comprehensive leadership development programme for high-potential employees across the land-based gaming sector  .

Among this year’s standout graduates is Samantha Hempshall, Blueprint’s Operations Manager, who says the 45-week course has profoundly reshaped her leadership style. Built around classroom workshops, virtual modules, and coaching, the academy was completed in three rigorous phases between March 2024 and May 2025.

“The course helped me develop not just what I communicate, but how I approach those conversations… pausing and reflecting before acting,” Samantha explains. “It pushed me outside my comfort zone — and I’m grateful for that.”

One of fourteen attendees chosen as part of the programme—a year-long initiative to identify future leaders—the academy empowered participants to challenge senior management with confidence, foster deeper listening, and grow more intentional in decision-making.

Samantha’s increased collaboration on recent initiatives, such as the rollout of the Blueprint/Regal “Omni-Channel” launch of Gladiator Riches, highlights the practical benefits of structured personal development  .

The curriculum included interactive workshops, virtual learning, and one-to-one coaching—an in-depth investment designed to shape leaders capable of charting strategy and driving performance. Reflecting on the programme’s purpose, Merkur UK cited its belief in nurturing talent for long-term business growth and building a culture where staff feel valued and empowered.

This initiative aligns with Merkur’s broader approach to workforce development, including the national reach of its facilities and high standards of safer-gambling training  . By investing in skills development, the brand underlines its commitment to both people and performance—ensuring its evolution keeps pace with changing regulatory landscapes and market challenges.
