Following the recent expansion of E-Service (Europe) Ltd’s into a larger Northern hub in Castleford, we caught up with Managing Director Mike Clokie to learn more about what the move means for customers, how the business is adapting to meet growing demand, and where things are heading next for one of the industry’s most trusted technical support providers.
Q: Mike, congratulations on the new facility. What prompted the move to a larger unit in Castleford?
Mike Clokie: Thank you! The move is really a reflection of how the business has grown. Demand has increased across all product lines, from consumables and spare parts to smart tech and support, so we needed more space to operate efficiently and support our customers better. Castleford has always been key to our service in the North, so when the neighbouring unit became available, it was the perfect opportunity to expand.
Q: What’s new at the Castleford site, and how will it benefit operators?
Mike Clokie: There’s quite a bit that’s new. We’ve more than doubled our storage capacity, so we can now hold larger volumes of essential items like paper tickets, tokens, pool table equipment and locks and seals as well as smart tech solutions. We’ve also added a dedicated technical support office and upgraded our systems with smarter tracking and faster dispatch capabilities. We’ve now created a dedicated meeting room at Castleford, this additional space will benefit the sales team and our customers; somewhere to welcome customers, host discussions, and collaborate more effectively.
Q: You marked the opening with a celebration today —how did it go?
Mike Clokie: It was a fantastic day! We were really pleased to welcome a mix of customers, suppliers, and colleagues to see the new facility in person. There was a great atmosphere with lots of conversations, lots of interest in what we’re doing, and a real sense of momentum. It was also a chance for our team to show the investment that’s gone into improving service in the region.
Q: How does this expansion fit into your wider UK and Ireland strategy?
Mike Clokie: Our aim is to be as accessible and responsive as possible, wherever our customers are. Castleford now complements our operations in Welham Green, in Hertfordshire, allowing us to serve the UK and Ireland more efficiently than ever. We’re investing in infrastructure, people, and product ranges all to make life easier for operators.
It’s about being a trusted partner, not just a supplier. Whether that’s getting parts out quickly, solving technical issues, or helping customers plan ahead; we want to be there every step of the way.
