Bianca Jagger Opposes Silvertime Earl’s Court AGC Relocation

Plans to relocate an adult gaming centre (AGC) to a more prominent site on Earl’s Court Road have attracted local opposition, including intervention from high-profile campaigner Bianca Jagger.

The proposal, submitted by Silvertime Amusements, seeks to move its existing venue at 169 Earl’s Court Road to a larger unit at 177–179 on the same street. The new premises would operate as a 24-hour venue, subject to licensing approval.

Jagger has formally objected to the application, citing concerns over the increased visibility of the proposed site and the potential clustering of gambling venues in the immediate area. In her submission, she argued that the new location would be “highly visible” and questioned whether the development would contribute to a concentration of AGCs and betting premises in close proximity.

Local councillor Linda Wade has also raised concerns, particularly around the proposed 24/7 operating model. While not opposing the business outright, she suggested that, if approved, operating hours should be restricted to late evening closures rather than round-the-clock trading.

The application highlights ongoing tensions at a local level around the positioning and visibility of AGCs on high streets, particularly in areas with high footfall and mixed-use communities. Concerns raised by objectors include proximity to vulnerable groups and the perceived cumulative impact of multiple gambling venues within a defined area.

Silvertime has described the proposal as a “straightforward” relocation of a long-standing business, noting that the new premises would remain relatively modest in size while offering improved facilities. The company has also indicated that the existing site would close should the new licence be granted.
