Karl Zabroski Joins Clacton Pier

The former boss of a top Essex attraction has joined Clacton Pier as its Commercial Manager.

Karl Zabroski was General Manager of Rollerworld in Colchester for more than 14 years, leaving in 2022, just over a year before it closed.

He joined the seaside team in May and is settling into his new role at Europe’s largest pleasure pier where he is part of an enhanced management structure to take the business forward.

After Rollerworld, the 39-year-old was responsible for helping to create and launch No Name Bar and Games in Colchester.

He has also worked for some of the big players in the social competitive gaming industry such as Boom Battle Bar and Adventure Leisure.

Pier General Manager Harry Peek said he was delighted to recruit someone of Karl’s experience and knowledge and welcomed him on board.

“Karl has worked for us for a couple of months now and has already shown that he will be a major asset to the company,” he added.

“The pier has grown tremendously as an attraction over the past six years and it is important that we have a management team of the highest calibre in place as we continue to develop our offer and attract new visitors.”

Karl still lives in the Colchester area and saw the pier as a natural progression in his career.

“In times dominated by technology and screens, I’m still a very firm believer in real life leisure activities and the hugely positive impact they have on people’s lives,” he said.

“Getting people out, having fun socialising, creating positive and unique experiences, making memories and trying something new are so important to our health and well-being.

“Where better for me to be working than at Clacton Pier.”

The attraction is currently recruiting for a number of new staff. These include ride operators, cooks, soft play assistants, party hosts and to join the deck service team.

All positions can be found on the pier’s website, www.clactonpier.co.uk
