Bacta and Boomerang Digital have formally signed a supply and data sharing agreement relating to self-exclusion, in a move described as a major step forward for player protection across the land-based gaming sector.
The agreement follows months of technical, operational and legal collaboration between the parties and will enable the unification of the existing self-exclusion schemes operated by Bacta and Boomerang
In practical terms, the new arrangement wil allow relevant self-exclusion data to be shared between participating venues and operators, helping to create a more connected and effective safeguarding framework for consumers.
Under the agreement, customers who self-exclude at participating high street bingo venues will also be capable of being recognised within participating Adult Gaming Centres, and vice versa.
The move is expected to strengthen protections for vulnerable players by creating a more joined-up approach to self-exclusion across different parts of the land-based sector.
The agreement forms part of Bacta’s wider programme of work focused on enhancing player protection standards and improving consistency across member operations.
Further details regarding implementation timelines, onboarding procedures and how the unified scheme will operate in practice are expected to follow in due course.
The agreement has been welcomed as an important example of industry collaboration in developing practical tools and systems aimed at supporting safer gambling objectives across the sector.
