It was a fantastic day at Lincoln Golf Club, Torksey, Lincolnshire yesterday, as industry colleagues came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and mark the 30th Anniversary of CLMS Golf Days. The event was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and some colourful language, as players braved the chilly but dry conditions, with the sun making a welcome appearance midway through the afternoon.
As always, the event attracted a strong turnout from across the industry, with representatives from retailers & consultants including Admiral, LMS, M&B, Roadchef, and Welcome Break, operators such as Dransfield, Fair City, Inspired, Keeday, Regal, Sims, and SX Leisure, manufacturers including Boomerang Digital, E-Service, Innov8, Inspired, and Reflex, as well as distributors like UK Gaming Solutions. We were also pleased to welcome Peter Hannibal from GBG, along with 10 members of Lincoln Golf Club and the return of Glynn and Mary Mellor.
The individual trophy winner was Paul Stafford, Captain of Lincoln Golf Club, who narrowly edged out Dave Newman from Welcome Break on a countback after both finished with an impressive 41 points. The ladies’ winner was Mary Mellor.
The players were well looked after by Lisa Snow and Lisa Becket from the CLMS office, who did an amazing job encouraging donations for our chosen charity, Bassetlaw Hospice in Retford. Thanks to their efforts (and the incentive of Baby Guinness shots and Jameson’s whiskey to stave off the cold!), we raised just short of £2,400. This total will be generously topped up once again by the Bacta Charitable Trust, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all Bacta members for their continued support.
Simon Barff, Managing Director of CLMS commented, “A special thank you goes to Lincoln Golf Club for hosting us once again, to all those who donated prizes for the raffle, and to the players who travelled from across the UK to take part. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another fantastic event!”
