Tuesday night at this year’s EAG Expo proved that business networking doesn’t have to be confined to the show floor, with industry guests heading to BrewDog Canary Wharf for a lively, informal and thoroughly enjoyable evening of darts, conversation and entertainment.
Organised by leading UK operator Bob Rudd Leisure, the event brought together operators, suppliers and partners for a relaxed, high-energy social that perfectly complemented the intensity of the exhibition days at ExCeL London. With live demonstrations of the Target Darts Zone, plenty of competitive banter and a buzzing atmosphere, the evening quickly became one of the standout social moments of the week.
A world-class darts line-up
Adding real star power to the night was an exceptional guest line-up, led by Phil Taylor, widely regarded as the greatest darts player of all time and a 16-time World Champion. Guests also enjoyed the company of Rob Cross, former World Champion renowned for his big-match composure and relentless scoring, alongside John McDonald, the unmistakable voice of darts.
McDonald hosted a lively and entertaining Q&A session with Taylor and Cross, offering insight into life on the oche, memorable moments from the world stage and plenty of humour along the way. The relaxed format encouraged audience interaction and helped create a genuinely inclusive, feel-good atmosphere.
From spectators to the oche
One of the highlights of the evening came when guests were invited to put their names forward for the chance to play Rob Cross live on the Target Darts Zone. Drawn on the night, the lucky participants stepped up to the oche to test their nerve against one of the sport’s elite — a once-in-a-lifetime experience that drew cheers, laughter and plenty of camera phones!
Throughout the evening, the Target Darts Zone proved a real talking point, demonstrating how technology-led darts experiences can deliver strong engagement, social interaction and competitive fun in modern leisure environments.

Operator-led, experience-driven
With Bob Rudd Leisure curating the evening, the event underlined how operator-led initiatives can play a vital role in shaping the future of competitive socialising — showcasing not just products, but how they perform in a real-world, high-energy setting. The Bob Rudd stand at the show also provided a lively hub for show visitors throughout the three days of EAG.
With great company, world-class darts talent and a relaxed setting, Tuesday night’s event delivered exactly what it promised: a memorable evening combining innovation, entertainment and the very best of industry camaraderie.
