ITL’s SMART Coin System passes ECB test

Innovative Technology (ITL), leading provider of cash validation and recycling equipment for over 30 years, have announced that their SMART Coin System has successfully passed the ECB (European Central Bank) test designed to detect counterfeit euro coins. The ECB carries out verification tests on coin-processing machines to check they can authenticate genuine coins.

Commenting on the success of the bank test, Thorsten Labusch, VP of Sales & Business Development for ITL said, “The test was recently conducted by Deutsche Bundesbank and determined that the SMART Coin System (and Twin SMART Coin System), could reliably detect the counterfeit euro coins most frequently removed from circulation at the time of testing.”

ITL’s SMART Coin System is a bulk coin validator, mixed coin hopper and recycler in one. The unit validates, discriminates and stores mixed coins, eliminating coin starvation & the need for multiple hoppers. It is designed to significantly reduce collection costs, and improve operator cashflow.

Concluding Thorsten said, “We are proud to have passed the ECB’s strict testing process with the highest level possible! Across our whole product range we are constantly developing our global currency dataset files to ensure we maintain our leading acceptance rates, adding new coins as they are introduced. Well done to all the team involved in this impressive achievement.”

The test results are published to help manufactures choose the counterfeit detection equipment most suitable for their needs.
